FOCAL is returning to Warwickshire! A year after the very successful debut event in Rugby, our hosting team is bringing the event back for a second run. And this time there will be a Goat event on the Friday night before too!

When: Friday 22nd March 2024 (Goatdown event) and Saturday 23rd March 2024 (Countdown event)
Where: Rugby West Indian Association, 102 Railway Terrace, Rugby, CV21 3HE (map)
Presented by: Mel Coupe, co-organised with MSR and with some presenting assistance on the day from Series 83 champion Adam Latchford.
Format: ‘Lincoln style’, each player will play eight 9-rounder games.
Admission: £5 for Goatdown, £10 for Countdown, payable here
Start: 18:30 doors on Friday for a 19:00 start on Goatdown.
10:00am doors for an 11:00am start on Saturday, please arrive by 10:45am
Finished by: 22:00 on Friday, 18:00 on Saturday

The Venue, Travel, and Accommodation

Our venue is the wonderful Rugby West Indian Association, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Rugby railway station, which has regular trains from Birmingham and Nuneaton (change from Leicester or Peterborough).

Or if you’re driving yourself, there are nearby Pay & Display car parks just a short walk away in the local area, be careful parking on Railway Terrace as there were some issues last year with their payment system that caused some parking fines to be issued! Please be aware that the John Barford multistorey car park is locked at 7pm!

Please note that venue policy requires under-18s to be accompanied by an adult, and no alcohol is to be brought on site. Save your drinks for the pub afterwards

For hotels, there is a Travelodge next to the train station, plus other otpions available locally.

Lunch is not provided but there are many nearby shops including a Tesco Express by the Travelodge and a WHSmith in the train station.

Parkrun

For all the keen co:parkrunners, Rugby parkrun is just over a mile away from the venue.

Entry is just £5 for Goatdown and £10 for Countdown, payable here.
